Emirates Cricket Board has today confirmed the team that will represent the UAE in the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2020.

To be played in South Africa during January and February (2020), the ICC U19 CWC pool games are scheduled to commence Friday January 17th and will be played through to Saturday January 25th. Play-offs start Monday January 27th and will continue through to the Super League final on Sunday February 9th.

UAE have been drawn into Group D alongside Afghanistan, Canada and hosts, South Africa, with ’s opening match to be played Saturday January 18th against Canada at Bloemfontein’s Mangaung Oval, South Africa.

His Excellency Dr. Tayeb Al Kamali, Emirates Cricket Selection Committee Chairman and Board Member said: “Emirates Cricket’s under-19 players continue to impress, and their qualification to compete in the upcoming ICC (U19) Cricket World Cup is a great reward for their commitment and efforts.” “Preparations have been progressing very well, this combined with a number of players competing with the Men’s side, against strong, senior sides, will definitely help boost their confidence and match-experience. We wish them a very successful series.” added Al Kamali.
