UAE to take on USA and Namibia in ICC CWC League 2 series matches

Dubai, 13 September 2024: A 14-member UAE team led by opener Muhammad Waseem will leave for Namibia today (Friday) to take part in the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 matches. Hosts Namibia and United States of America are the two other participants in the Namibia-leg of the competition. 

The ICC CWC League 2 is part of the qualifying pathway for the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2027. Following the ODI matches, the three teams will be involved in a T20 tri-series from Sunday, 29 September. 

UAE squad for ICC CWC League 2 matches in Namibia: Muhammad Waseem (captain), Aayan Afzal Khan, Ali Naseer, Alishan Sharafu, Aryansh Sharma, Basil Hameed, Junaid Siddique, Muhammad Farooq, Muhammad Haider Shah, Muhammad Jawadullah, Omid Rahman, Rahul Bhatia, Rahul Chopra and Vishnu Sukumaran.

18 September – UAE vs USA

20 September – Namibia vs UAE

24 September – USA vs UAE

26 September – Namibia vs UAE
