Emirates Cricket Board congratulates UAE team on historic achievement in ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup

Dubai, 15 December 2023: UAE Men’s U19 produced another sensational performance to knockout former champions Pakistan in the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup semi-final at the ICC Academy Oval 1, Dubai on Friday. 

 

The team has now qualified for the tournament final; the hosts will take on Bangladesh at the Dubai International Stadium (DIS) on Sunday, 17 December. The Aayan Afzal Khan-led side made a stellar comeback to defend a 193-total on Friday as the hosts won by 11 runs. Aayan first led with the bat with 55 off 57 and then led the side brilliantly while delivering an economical 10-over spell where he conceded a mere 33 runs. 

 

Aayan was later adjudged player-of-the-match. The Emirates Cricket Board has announced that fans will be allowed free entry in the DIS spectator stands for Sunday’s final.

The players and coaches have worked tirelessly to produce these results, the future of UAE cricket is incredibly bright and these are the players who will take the sport to the next level.
