Emirates Cricket has announced the UAE Cricket Leagues – Women's T20 tournament will take place from November 28th through to December 2nd.
As well as identifying, and awarding the best Women's T20 team in the Emirates, the tournament will play an integral role in selection of the UAE Women's team that will compete in the upcoming UAE Women's Tours of T20 Smash (Thailand – January 2019), and the ICC Women's World T20 Asia Qualifiers (February 2019).
Teams representing Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, and Sharjah will compete in the 5-day tournament, and players will be selected by a draft draw on Sunday evening.
Waleed Bukhatir, UAE Cricket Board Member and Chief Selector commented; “We are exceptionally fortunate to have such a pool of quality, committed players among our female (domestic) cricketers, and we are delighted to have a pool of no less than 60-players for Sunday's draft. We are looking forward to seeing the results of the draft and wish players the very best in the draw.”
Captains that will lead their respective Emirates are; Chamani Senevirathne (Abu Dhabi), Esha Oza (Ajman), Subha Srinivasan (Dubai), and Humaira Tasneem (Sharjah).
The draft draw will take place at the ICC Academy, Sunday November 11th, at 6pm, with key Council and Emirates Cricket representation to conduct and oversee the draw.
